Michigan has an annual event called "Noel Night" which includes music led by the salvation army. I took a few shots, not many and did not have my tripod with me which made it difficult to take low light shots.

This is a shoot I did in New York, I figure this week’s project should deals with what I do with my photography. I would like to thank Rushmila of styleeRUSH (www.styleesrush.com) for styling and preparing the brides, I think she did an exceptional job, especially with the eye makeup.

Wow, the last few days have been pretty hectic with exams, projects and a lot of photoshoping! I may be putting way to much on my plate and not having a written schedule is not helping.

I was in NY last weekend, it was great as usual, mainly because I got to spend time with my wife. We were able to organize a photo shoot with an amazing make up artist named Rushmila. She is based in NY and does incredible things with the eye. My wife was able to participate and i was able to get amazing shots of her (as always). Other than the photo shoot we did not do much in the city this time, it was a short visit and neither one of us was in the mood to do much. For those who are interested in the pictures, I will post them this Wednesday as my weekly project.

Though i won't post pictures from the photo shoot in NY just yet, I did take some pictures of my little niece yesterday, she is three months old and I must say it is incredibly difficult to take pictures of a baby who loves to move around, so here are the pictures.

She is becoming way to adorable and is oozing with personality.

Sorry for not posting since last Wednesday, I have been busy and out of town (New York City). On a good note, I did manage to produce a theme with two wonderful models and a great makeup artist. The overall shoot involved five models, various outfits and jewelry from “Royal Charms” and eight hours of work.

"Red Dawn" the "Master Class" and the Invasion of Detroit by Hollywood!

As I was driving through the city of Detroit after a meeting with my academic counselor, I was contemplating what my next project should deal with. I must admit that I could not come up with anything I would consider worthwhile. I am trying to keep the first few projects connected to social themes in Michigan, though I have a few ideas for the future, I had yet to plan a safe way of pursuing those photographs.

On my way home, I noticed several road blocks hampering my way. Into the distance I saw weird contraptions and what looked like Chinese flags and banners draped along the road, I also noticed armed men and armed military vehicles, and of course I do the obvious and park my car to see what’s going on.

As I walk closer to the scene there are an army of Chinese men walking around with assault rifles, this was obviously a movie shoot and it got me very excited! The movie being filmed was a remake of an 80’s cult hit “Red Dawn”. I wasn’t able to take many shots and had to be discreet with the pictures that I was able to take, I was told that it was a closed set and I wasn’t allowed to take any at all, but what I was able to take turned out pretty awesome, especially after my photoshop magic.

After an hour of watching movie making magic on the set of “Red Dawn” I jumped back into my car and noticed another movie being made about half a mile away. This was a shoot for “Master Class” a movie being filmed by Oscar winner Faye Dunaway. On this set I was able to convince some of the security guards that I was part of the crew; it’s amazing how much a man with an SLR camera can convince people that they belong there. This allowed me to take some amazing shots though still discreetly so I would not draw the attention of anyone who might have known better and be asked to leave. I did get some shots of the lead actor and actress (I really don’t know who they are) but the blog is a photography blog and not TMZ and since the pictures had no artistic value to them I won’t be posting them here, but if you would like to see them, just email me.

Fried Chicken and Collaborations!

Went to Church’s chicken today hoping to get some delicious fried chicken! But delicious was far from what I got. It had to be the fattiest chicken I have ever purchased, the chicken was oozing with it and every bite made me feel like I would instantly have a heart attack. In reality I shouldn’t even have purchased such a meal, my vow to eat only from socially responsible restaurants like Chipotle was compromised as well as my personal weight loss issue. But, forgive and forget and just learn from the mistake.

This week’s project has come out pretty well, can’t wait to share it and view the project as a whole. Also, I am looking to build my portfolio, so far I have focused on events, nature and people in a photo journalistic perspective, I want to venture into the world of fashion photography, posed photography and artistic collaborations with others, I am looking for Models, Makeup artists, Stylists and anyone interested in collaborating in projects. Quintessential Serenity

The last project dealt with the sorrows of Michigan, this will deal with the quintessential serenity that also exists in this grand state. The Cider Mills of Michigan are an iconic emblem of surreal bonds with nature and family. Michigan is home to many of these beautiful establishments but this project involves one that I am the most familiar with, “Yates Cider Mill” of Rochester Hills.

The Weekend in Review

The Yankees did well, what an amazing game, had the drama of a sappy soap and the thrills of a roller coaster. But, the Giants did not fare to well this weekend, very disappointing, I don’t think they were prepared at all, and maybe the injuries to the defensive back finally showed its ugly face. But, I’m really not too worried, the Giants will bounce back and maybe even become a better team because of this.

As for baseball, how awesome would it be to have a world series that included the Yankees and the Dodgers? Talk about drama, real drama! The disgruntled old skipper returns to the big apple to face the team he was not so long ago managing. My wife doesn’t understand why I like baseball, to me it’s not so much just the game but the story of each and every game, the release and importance of each and every pitch. Baseball at face value doesn’t offer the incredible athletics or the excitement you expect from sports, but baseball offers history, statistics and probabilities. To enjoy baseball you have to know baseball, you have to understand the significance of what’s happening, baseball has an incredibly long season that accumulates mass amounts of data, and every so often something spectacular happens that defies what’s possible.

I have been craving my hamburger, I really need to get the ingredients and make it, maybe sometime this week, I will of course post a recipe attached with some pictures. I would definitely watch out for it, as my wife says, it’s delicious!

Well another end to a very unproductive weekend, I have to compensate by making this week the most productive in a very long time, I have some major catching up to do with micro economics, but, I’m sure I will be fine. Also, new project coming this Wednesday.

Contemplation

There is so little that we know of truth and we often confuse it with what is the perception of truth .I find myself consistently being told this is how things are and what people view it to be. It is often contradicted immediately by other friends whom may have opposite views. My proposal to all this is, if people want to learn let it be, but do not enforce your views because you are just leading sheep. For those who choose not to learn on your own or are incapable of grasping your own views, perception, or ideas please refrain from participating because people should only have one voice, not many.

On another note, my first project has been shared, I personally felt satisfied by it and am contemplating now on what’s next. Any ideas or suggestions are always appreciated and I would try my best to accomplish those goals I feel I am capable of.

Also, I think I want to expand this blog to cover other things, cooking and recipes perhaps? Maybe even reviews of local stores, bars, restaurants. Again, this is very exciting, I think giving myself projects to do keeps me active and productive, beats sitting at home wondering what I will do next.

City of Decay

So here it is my first project for this blog, the subject matter is personal to me because I have been a resident of the state of Michigan for many years. Though I am a vagabond at the moment and can’t call any state my own until I settle, I still consider New York and Michigan my homes.

I traveled to Detroit hoping to capture some light in the current darkness, I was hoping to find crowds, shops and a sense of “we will succeed”, but the truth is no matter what is said or promised the City is largely forgotten. I don’t believe the state has an invested interest in Detroit.

As a resident of Michigan I have always felt a large sense of bitterness that still exists years after the riots, corrupt politician and genuine distrust between Detroit residents and the residents of surrounding cities have isolated Detroit into decay. There are spots in Detroit that once showed promise but even that has dissipated. Corktown which was a flourishing place to wine and dine has empty stalls and “out of business” signs.

In no way am I an accurate judge of the city and its future, but I am a member of its society with an open eye, and Detroit is in a sad state.

This project is a little depressing, it represents my vision of the city, enjoy.

Sorry, We're Dead.

I spent the day shooting in Detroit, and I like the results and am very excited about sharing the pictures. I should have it up by Wednesday at 12:00 a.m., which is the earliest I can!

As for Detroit, god, it is very depressing. The city looks like it has gone through some major trauma. There are a lot of broken and sad things. I went to Cork Town, I read somewhere it was an up and coming trendy place, but it looked more like what Detroit could not accomplish. There were some new shops and many recently closed ones, there are signs of an attempt to revitalize the area but it looks like the long recession trampled that hope.

My project on Wednesday deals with forgotten metal, but until then here are a couple of pictures of Cork Town.

Salgado

There are amazing photographers in the world, but very few overwhelm you with emotions by simply viewing their pictures. This photographer has found perfection in composition and the ability to capture moments in time that can only be explained as genius. Today I introduce to you Sebastiãon Salgado, a photographer that inspires many.

I hope you enjoyed his work and I have convinced you to look up more of his work. He is an amazing talent and an amazing story teller.

Anxious

This blogging fills me with anxiety, so much to think about before putting it into words, do I dare write and have nothing interesting to say? Seems like I fear rejection even on my own blog… can I really be incapable of doing things unless I deem it perfect?

I need something to do, I need to take pictures, the project I am suppose to have on this blog by Wednesday is turning out to be something very positive. I am searching for ideas and local events, but I don’t know what I’m going to do yet other than wanting it to be interesting, something that tells a story or not tell a story at all.

The Inability to Agree

The country is huge with different views and opinions, but what we should all agree on is that we are all Americans and do not want to see the country or it's people fail. We can disagree with how it's done, that is our American right.

An Introduction.

I started this blog in hopes of progressing my creative output. I believe it will encourage me to practice and refine my skills by setting a dead line to produce a project. I'm actually quite excited about the potential, I like deadlines, it keeps me honest and active.

So a little about me, I am a Bangladeshi photographer and I am pursuing a degree in Information System Management.

Besides the weekly project, I plan to update this blog with occasional stories and random babbles. Anyway, I hope who ever out there is reading this blog finds it entertaining and worth while.
